The Research & Development Council of New Jersey Awards
Engineering/Technician Scholarships to Deserving Students
DENVILLE, NJ, July 25, 2008-The Research & Development Council of New Jersey, a nonprofit organization dedicated to
supporting the advancement of research and development throughout the state, has once again awarded Engineering/Technician
Scholarships to 10 deserving community college students.
Each year, the Council awards $1500 scholarships to students in engineering, science and technology-related fields who are
enrolled in any of New Jersey’s community colleges. Grade point average, major field of interest, extra-curricular activities,
financial need, other awards and career goals after college are all taken into consideration. The R&D Council’s generous member
companies make these scholarships available.
This year’s contributing members are:
- Johnson & Johnson, New Brunswick/Middlesex County
- Sabinsa Corporation, Piscataway/Middlesex County
- ExxonMobil Research & Engineering Co, Annandale/Hunterdon County
- Roche, Inc., Nutley/Essex County
- Wyeth Research, Princeton/Mercer County
- Reckitt Benckiser, Montvale/Bergen County
- Celgene Corporation, Summit/Union County
- Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation, East Hanover/Morris County
- National Starch & Chemical Company, Bridgewater/Somerset County
The student winners of this year’s Engineering/Technician Scholarships are:

- Mirajkumar Patel, Piscataway/Raritan Valley Community College
- Nnenna Nwachukwu, Irvington/Essex County College
- Ivy Taylor, Bloomfield/Passaic County Community College
- Christina Daniello, Williamstown/Camden County Community College
- Yolanda Isom, Paterson/Passaic County Community College
- Matthew Baker, Verona/Union County Community College
- Margaret Wolos, Little Falls/Passaic County Community College
- Tiffany Spinola, Manville/Raritan Valley Community College
- Merron Belai, Jersey City/Hudson County Community College
The Research & Development Council of New Jersey is a nonprofit organization dedicated to cultivating an environment that
