Denville, N.J., March 16, 2000 — The Research and Development (R&D) Council of New Jersey is accepting applications for the 2000 Technician Scholarships. Annually, the R&D Council awards three scholarships to students enrolled in a two-year New Jersey state school who have one year left to complete. This year, four scholarships will be awarded. The scholarship is exclusively for students in fields such as engineering, technology, science and mathematics.

The four scholarships, which are $1500 each, are sponsored by donations from Council members who provide funds for full or half scholarships. Community colleges in the state of New Jersey will receive the application forms and a one-page information sheet to post within their schools. Applications are to be submitted by May 15, 2000 and the scholarships will be awarded in August.

Students must submit a transcript of grades and a letter of reference with the completed application. For more information and to obtain an application, please call the Council office at 973-627-5330.

The Research & Development Council is a non-profit organization that works to cultivate an environment that supports the advancement of research and development activity throughout New Jersey.

The R&D Council has about 90 member companies.
