Council Provides Judges for NJ Science Olympiad Mission Possible Tuesday, March 26, 2002 some 30 middle schools competed in the NJ Science Olympiad at Middlesex County College judged by R&D Council member company representatives. One moment was especially poignant; one young man had built his entire project by himself. Prior to the competition, he demonstrated it with confidence. Unfortunately, in the heat of competition, his device suffered several failures. He was visibly upset but only for a moment as the judges leapt into action asking him to describe the nature of the failures. Then one said to him, "That’s science. This happens to us everyday. We try something. It doesn’t work. Then we try something else."
