RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL OF NEW JERSEY ANNOUNCED NEW OFFICERS
Denville, N.J., July 2, 1999 The Research and Development (R&D) Council of New Jersey announced its new slate of officers who begin their two-year terms effective July 1, 1999. Former Vice Chairman, Dr. Alan Main, Senior Vice President of U.S. Research Operations at Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation, is now the reigning Chairman of the Council.
Mr. Mario Casabona, President and CEO of Electro-Radiation Inc., now holds the position of Vice Chairman. The Treasurer of the organization is Dr. Bill Stephenson, Vice President of Research at the University of Medicine & Dentistry of NJ and the Secretary is Dr. Robert Schaffhauser, Vice President and Chief Technical Officer of Engelhard Corporation.
Initiatives of the Council in the upcoming year include continued participation in the Tech/Prep grant to provide a qualified pool of future R&D employees, support of the University Heights Science Park High School, a venture fund coordinating technology transfer, networking meetings after hours for the entire membership, and a new membership campaign.
